As a Network and System Administrator, you are the backbone of our IT infrastructure, ensuring everything runs smoothly and securely. You are responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networks, and software systems. Your role is crucial in keeping our systems secure and available, monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and managing user access. You are the go-to person for implementing updates, patches, and backups to maintain system integrity, while also optimizing network resources to support our business needs. Additionally, you are the guardian of our cybersecurity protocols, responding swiftly to any breaches or vulnerabilities to ensure continuous operational efficiency.
This position is dynamic and exciting, involving both a strategic view and hands-on management of system, network, and security topics. You will work closely with the IT Security Manager and IT Architect, making a significant impact on our organization's success.
Your responsibilities span the entire MSF Switzerland, including HQ, field, and partner offices, making you an essential part of our team.
Responsibilities
System and Network
* Is responsible for the optimal running of the infrastructure.
* Continuous improvement: Proposes measures to optimize the technical resources of the organization and minimize the costs, improving quality, availability, and performance.
* Ensures the fulfilment of SLA’s, guarantees the availability of the infrastructure and business continuity.
* Configuration management: Keeps a permanent inventory and manages various components of the infrastructure. Ensures that the systems are properly documented with up-to-date information.
* Technical reference: Elaborates guidelines and rules of use of the tools, in-line with the standards of the organization and according to the SLAs. Documents, communicates, and controls the application of those rules.
* Produces documents describing products, services, components, or applications related to network to establish compliance with relevant documentation requirements.
* Interfaces with the Information Security Manager to analyze security events and their remediation.
Support
* Incident Management: Responds to user requests and issues that are escalated from the support team level 1-2; systematically records relevant information (tickets).
* Problems management: Identifies the root cause of incidents. Participates in corrective maintenance and quality improvement.
* Trains and transfers competencies and documentation to the support teams.
Solution Deployment
* Installs and integrates new systems into the production environment following established standards.
* Carries out system interventions, including installation, upgrades, and decommissioning, ensuring hardware, software, and network interoperability.
* Verifies system performance, addresses faults, and ensures successful integration with formal documentation and sign-off.
* Coordinates and organizes deployment actions with key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with requirements and rules.
* Proposes solutions and innovative approaches while staying updated on technological advancements in systems administration.
* Participates in Change Management, providing network and security input and supporting change request processes and attending the Change Advisory Board.
Projects
* Acts as team member/SME for applicative and infrastructure projects.
* In the frame of infrastructure improvements projects, acts as project manager or technical project lead. Complies with the PM methodology in place (phasing, charters, reporting, etc…) in the IS department.
* Formally proposes projects to improve the infrastructure. Defines projects scope, approach, risks, and resources in accordance with the IT strategic plan/roadmap and the yearly Plan of Action.
* Accompanies project managers in designing the projects technical approach.
International coordination
* Closely collaborates with the counterparts of the other Operational Centers and with the international IS management platform (ISM) to define opportunities of convergence at movement level, for example through alignment on technological standards and global projects.
Your Profile
Education & Training
* Master’s degree in computer science preferred.
* ITIL certification.
* Any Microsoft, Fortinet, HyperV or Security certification.
Experience
* 5+ years as System and Network engineer.
* Complex international environment.
* Hybrid architecture (private and public cloud).
* ITIL approach, IT process.
* ITSM Tools.
* IT project methodology.
* Strong understanding of aligning IT service delivery and infrastructure with business goals.
* Extensive expertise in data center operations, network engineering, and production support.
* Deep knowledge of the relationship between infrastructure, security, and applications, ensuring collaboration between teams.
* Proficiency in system/network architecture design, server management, virtualization, and connectivity.
* Ability to plan, design, and implement improvements for high availability and disaster recovery.
* Strong technical analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting skills, with knowledge of IT processes and project management.

Languages
* English and French are the working languages of MSF Switzerland. Fluency in both English and French is required for this position (oral and written).
Terms of Employment
* Full-time position 100% (40h/week).
* Open-ended contract.
* Ideal start date: As soon as possible.
* Gross annual salary (for 100%): from CHF 101’172.- to CHF 115’332.- (salary commensurate with equivalent experience and internal salary grid).
* Paid vacation: 25 days per year, prorate temporis, plus any Swiss public holidays falling within the contract period.
* Pension plan: pension contribution covered 3/4 by MSF, 1/4 by staff member.
* Relocation package if moving from a different country to Switzerland.
