We are looking for a Head of Sales to join the Quantum Detection Systems department based in our Geneva’s HQ.
IDQ is one of the most fascinating companies in the world of quantum communications and quantum photonic sensing. IDQ strives to develop the key components of a stronger cybersecurity ecosystem and communication networks and collaborates with renowned universities and research centers.
In this newly created role, you will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of the growing quantum photonic instrumentation and sensing business in a very dynamic environment. You will be in charge of developing IDQ’s unique selling proposition at a global level and managing a team of sales professionals.
Your main responsibilities as a Head of Sales:
1. Define and implement sales and marketing strategies around single-photon detection systems and solutions.
2. Actively seek out major customers and university groups and form good relationships with key researchers and influencers.
3. Develop sales pipeline to achieve business targets to ensure profitability and scalability.
4. Develop go-to-market strategies and sales channels to achieve faster growth.
5. Demonstrate strong leadership to motivate and lead a highly effective team of 3-4 sales managers worldwide supported by technical sales support.
6. Prepare and present sales forecasts; contribute to the annual budgeting exercise.
7. Lead presentations for business development activities and be involved in meetings with key business stakeholders, particularly C-level executives.
8. Work in close collaboration with product management to optimize product positioning and provide inputs to the product development roadmap.
9. Work in close collaboration with the marketing team to provide marketing content and develop lead generation strategies.
Desired Profile:
1. Demonstrated track record of growing new businesses (double-digit growth) in the photonic and/or scientific instrumentation industry.
2. Strong background and knowledge of photonics, optical sensing systems, and quantum physics.
3. Experience in selling test & measurement equipment and/or services associated with instrumentation and sensing systems.
4. Experience in managing sales teams across different countries and regions; experienced in dealing with performance management, coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution.
5. Strong existing network and relationships within the research community in various countries/continents is a plus.
6. Experience working with and selling through sales channels using existing relationships with VARs, distributors, integrators, and service providers while striving to develop new ones.
7. You are an excellent communicator both internally and externally in English; other languages are an advantage.
