We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Product Developer to join our footwear team in Switzerland, focusing on development and management of snowboard boots. In this role, you will drive the creation of innovative and high-performance snowboard boot products from concept to market. You will develop, test, and refine designs to meet the evolving needs of snowboarders and uphold the high standards of the Nidecker Group.
This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about product development and innovation in sports equipment. Based in our Rolle office, you will collaborate on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that each snowboard boot meets the highest standards of durability, comfort, and functionality.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and a commitment to quality, helping to shape a product line that stands out in the snow sports industry. You’ll play a critical role in delivering snowboard boots that align with the company's brand values and performance expectations.
Tasks
* Work closely with the design team to ensure product development timing, testing, merchandising, etc.
* Create detailed technical drawings, specifications and communicate them with factory.
* Build Tech Packs with color, materials, graphics, trims and any other product details.
* Review samples and communicate to the factory the changes according to the timeline, with tech drawings review.
* Work with the marketing team to give direction on product communication.
* Daily communication with our development support office based in China.
* Manage data creation and modification according to the line plan.
Requirements
What we are looking for:
* Minimum 4 years’ experience in footwear Development/Management or in a related field.
* Fluent English (speaking & writing); French is an advantage.
* Personal interest in Snowboarding, Footwear, or outdoor sports.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
* Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of snowboard boot development.
* Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and 3D modeling software (Catia, Solidworks, ProEngineer or similar) is an advantage.
What you should bring to the table:
* Excellent time management skills to meet frequent deadlines.
* Knowledge in manufacturing processes, plastic injection, and footwear materials.
* Experience in the creative process – from ideation, concept development to production tech-packs, prototypes, sample reviews, and final sign-off.
* Critical thinking skills with the ability to review samples in a short period of time and provide feedback to factories according to the timeline.
* Ability to think creatively and analyze trends to improve upon existing products while keeping brand design identity.
* Ability to find new concepts and source innovative materials.
This is a full-time position available as of January 1, 2025. This role is for an all-year-round scope; however, there is significantly higher workload during the winter peak season for sales events.
