The Head of Data Strategy and Innovation is a leadership role reporting to the CDO responsible for focusing on and defining the overall data strategy (including advanced analytics and GenAI industrialization), identifying opportunities for leveraging data assets to drive business value and fostering a customer of data driven decision making and innovation. This position requires a combination of strategic vision, technical expertise, and strong leadership in a highly federated environment.
Elevate the role, services and products of data and advanced analytics by collaborating with key stakeholders to understand their data needs and communicate the value of data driven decision making. This leader will identify emerging trends and technologies in data management and analytics while evaluating their potential impact on the organization.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead the development and comprehensive data strategies across the EDAS organization (Data Management and Engineering, Governance, Platform and Advanced Analytics) that aligns to business objectives.
2. Identify areas of opportunities that can drive leverage data to drive growth, reuse, efficiency, automation, and simplicity.
3. Identify new data and analytics services that can unlock the potential of data by ensuring our data is AI ready and we make incremental steps in our data and analytics maturity.
4. Drive cross functional collaboration to understand their data needs and develop solutions that address their data challenges.
5. Collaborate closely with the Value Creation Office to operational cost savings and value realization with a roadmap of opportunities that can be executed.
6. Monitor the performance and effectiveness of data strategies and initiatives, continuously optimize them for maximum impact.
7. Coordinate and define an enterprise roadmap for the data and analytics services within EDAS.
8. Empower the BU/BF on how to best adopt our services and products to accelerate their GenAI/AI journey to a data driven enterprise.
9. Communicate awareness and understanding of data and analytics needs, objectives and direction throughout the organization.
10. Key member in driving in Global Data Council and other advisory councils as needed.
11. Close collaboration with the CTO on aligning the data and advanced AI strategy to the overall DDT strategy.
12. Excellent at translating business requirements into technical execution workstreams.
13. Drive measurable business results through the effective use of data, technologies and services that accelerate our business vision.
14. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams and data owners to identify data needs and requirements developing solutions that meet those needs.
15. Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to support data strategy and governance initiatives, while keeping fluent with the evolving data and analytics landscape.
16. Actively engaged with client decision-makers to set the tone & vision for measurement, acting as an evangelist for new solutions developed by our data and analytics CoE/service and product pillars.
17. In this critical role, you will be responsible for creating and managing relationships with key data providers, driving improved customer satisfaction, adoption of services and enhancing our data capabilities.
18. Create reports, roadmaps and key presentations to communicate data and analytics insights to key stakeholders.
19. As part of an enterprise program management role you will be responsible for evolving the successful adoption of data driven initiatives and ensuring enterprise alignment as part of the yearly MRP processes and financial commitment to value generation.
20. Responsible for strategic communications.
21. A visible leader who champions the development of a data-driven culture at Takeda and sets the vision and direction for all data professionals in our organization.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
1. Bachelor’s degree required and 8+ years in relevant data field.
2. Strong background in business development specific to data and analytics opportunities with excellent facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
3. An expert strategic advisory and ‘critical friend’ to our CDO, CTRO and other key executives for all aspects of data and analytics.
4. Demonstrated expertise in data governance and management principles, with a deep understanding of data quality, integrity, and security.
5. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
6. Experienced in large scale data lakes, data analytics, data governance and data lifecycle management.
7. 8-10 years in pharma data and relevant ecosystems.
8. Good understanding of functional data domains.
9. Fluent in working in highly federated business environments.
10. Working knowledge of pharmaceutical data assets.
11. Strong collaboration and storytelling skills working closely with cross functional teams to ensure data partnerships are successful.
12. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
This role requires onsite/hybrid presence and cannot be performed as remote only role.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$205,100.00 - $322,300.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
