Your role and responsibilities
As part of the Motion Service team, you will work in our Center of Expertise setup for Medium Voltage Drive Services and taking over products from System Drives into our portfolio. From there you will develop, deploy and maintain new modernization solutions for our installed base to innovate and develop solutions that create value for our customers.
In this role you create, modify and analyze the design of equipment, systems or installations, including specifications for manufacturing, fabrication or construction on assignments of medium to high complexity using established solutions. Adopt the solution and generate productized solution to support the target business solutions.
You will be mainly accountable for:
1. Acts as lead designer and ensures creation of customized designs with high priority on identification and control of hazards.
2. Contributes to design reviews and verification following established QA/QC process, provides feedback on design aspects and makes necessary modifications.
3. Optimizes designs to meet updated standards, incorporating new products, components and functionalities.
4. Creates work plans and cost estimates for work in one’s area of responsibility and ensures quality deliverables on time and at targeted cost.
5. Coordinates project work of adjacent domains eg electrical design work to achieve product specifications and timelines.
6. Completes risk and opportunity assessments and the implementation of resulting actions in one’s area of responsibility. Reports any contract / quality / program / cost issues to management, along with recommendations, for resolution.
7. Shares knowledge and experience across own business unit and beyond. Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of project design assignments.
8. Creates standard processes and tools to promote the reuse of technical solutions.
Qualifications for the role
* Mechanical engineering background with several years of relevant experience in the field of mechanical engineering, product development or engineering.
* Strong passion towards the electrical designing field.
* Detail-oriented person with a focus on developing control upgrade products.
* A good background on low and medium voltage products favorable, with experience in the environment of medium voltage area preferred.
* Strong expertise in generating adequate documentation of process, resulting work and product description.
* Good stakeholder management and communication skills, experience in managing R&D product developments are highly valuable key capabilities.
* Mastering Solid Edge as CAD tool, SAP knowledge to manage parts and bill of material.
* Business fluent in English, German knowledge is advantageous.
