Your opportunity
You are responsible for the IVD Consumables category, which comprises single use disposables manufactured at third parties & provided by Roche to end-customers for sample preparation and processing. This is largely but not exclusively high precision and high throughput injection molded plastic parts.
You are accountable for developing category strategies and leading key initiatives in the Consumables portfolio. As a member of the Consumables & Packaging Category team you are responsible for proactively identifying opportunities, engaging, and partnering with senior Business stakeholders and colleagues from the other Procurement pillars to deliver sustainable value for Roche.
1. You take ownership of the global category by constantly challenging the status-quo. Identifying enhancements and convincing the upper management to follow new ways of working, will be part of your responsibility.
2. You develop and implement the Category Strategy and Multi-Year Pipeline, driving and/or executing key strategic initiatives.
3. You conduct extensive and thorough risk / CSR reviews and incorporate those as a key chapter into your Category Strategy and value pipelines.
4. You intensify existing relationships with our external strategic partners. Beyond that you will closely monitor the market and identify players which fit best to our needs.
5. You ensure contract compliance, supporting the harmonization of processes and technology.
6. You coach Procurement colleagues and provide opportunities for professional development.
Who you are
1. University degree (with Business, Engineering or Scientific degree preferable), incl. 7+ years in-depth strategic procurement experience with extensive knowledge of category management and advanced strategic sourcing.
2. 7+ years overall business experience, including working within a regulated industry for regulated categories with familiarity of relevant legal risks and issues.
3. Experience in managing global cross-functional project teams.
4. Proven financial and business acumen (i.e. should cost, cost modeling) and proven capability in negotiation, conflict resolution and stakeholder management.
5. Excellent communication and project management skills with an ability to lead and manage teams effectively in a truly global, fluid, interactive environment.
6. Change management and process improvement skills with direct experience in delivering complex business process / organizational change.
7. Experience in the application of Strategic Relationship Management principles, expert proficiency in Procurement specific systems and processes for efficient management of sourcing events and contract negotiations (e.g. e-sourcing, e-auction).
8. Business level fluency in English and availability to travel for up to 20%.
