Purpose of the Function:
Perform activities of Quality control and Quality assurance, doing final inspection of finished products before they are consolidated/sealed, and approved for shipping. Using visual inspection methods and cross verification, the dock audit technician will perform the shipping dock verification in the distribution center before the product is loaded onto a freight truck for delivery.
Main purpose of Dock audits technician is primarily catching defective and non-compliant products before they are shipped. This helps Spellman to avoid customer complaints, maintain a good business reputation, and encourage a culture of consistent, high-quality work.
1. Perform product audits to assure compliance with packaging product requirements.
2. Perform product audits to assure physical integrity according to specifications, correct parts and quantity.
3. Perform product audits to ensure compliance with special customer requirements.
4. Perform process audits to verify quality controls.
5. Data analysis in support of claims reported due to packing, logistics, identification, issues.
6. Provide Quality technical support to the distribution center.
7. Support the receiving area in all quality aspects, early detection of issues prior to arrival at the production site.
8. Lead the MRB process, meetings, disposition and follow up of material segregated from the receiving inspection process and detected in the Spellman distribution center.
9. Lead the containment actions in the Spellman distribution center.
10. Coordinate purge of non-conforming material in the distribution center.
11. In charge of the accomplishment of the ESD guidelines.
12. In charge of Quality records.
13. Update and sustain inspection instructions applicable to parts & materials in the Spellman distribution center.
14. Quality assurance of material received from Spellman sister plants – Transfer orders.
15. Responsible for managing all the material that needs to be returned to the Manufacturing location.
16. Responsible for managing material with special requirements, prototypes, special engineering requests, customer samples, etc.
17. Support their QMS portion accordingly.
18. Lead the problem-solving process in the Spellman distribution center.
19. Comply with the Health, Safety and Environment Policy, following the procedures and work instructions applicable to his/her activities for the participation in the established Objectives and Goals.
Competences / abilities:
1. Technical Degree, Industrial, electronic or similar, 1 year of experience in Quality position.
2. Intermediate Interpretation of the IPC standards.
3. Basic Knowledge of functions in electronic systems (MRP).
4. Basic Interpretation of blueprints and bills of materials.
5. Handling of measuring equipment (Vernier, calipers, multimeters, etc.).
6. Basic knowledge of ESD guidelines.
7. Basic knowledge of the assembly process of electronic products using mixed technologies, SMT and T-Hole, manual soldering, mechanical assemblies, etc.
8. Intermediate handling of computer packages.
9. Basic knowledge of the metal mechanic’s process.
10. Basic knowledge of plating and painting processes.
11. Basic knowledge of power source processes.
12. Intermediate level of English.
13. Knowledge and understanding in Environmental & Quality Management Systems in their current versions (e.g. ISO 14001, 9001).
