Project Controls Manager – 6215
Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients, both in the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is looking for a Project Controls Manager for a 1-year contract role (extension planned) based in the Valais area, Switzerland.
The Project Controls Manager will manage and coordinate project control activities including planning, cost control, risk management, change management and reporting of the project. The role will be based on site in Visp at minimum 4 days per week .
Main Responsibilities:
1. Support the Global Engineering (GE) Project Managers on all project controls matters through final initiation, execution and close out phases.
2. Direct and support project control team members (planners and cost engineers) to ensure project controls tools & processes are in place.
3. Monthly validation and consolidation of commercial reporting of the CAPEX projects (e.g. Scope, Spend, Cost & Schedule, Risk, Forecasting, etc.).
4. Be the diplomatic lead to larger groups of cross functional project team members, gaining consensus and garnering support for the path forward on commercial topics.
5. Support and Collaborate with GE PMO department to ensure that reporting processes are implemented, and timelines are adhered to for the Capex Portfolio reporting.
6. Manage and Collaborate with GE Functions and related Stakeholders, ensuring capex funding, controlling, and forecasting is aligned.
7. Proactively contribute to the implementation, delivery and development of first in class project controls systems and tools.
8. Participate in delivery team and functional team meetings and workshops as required.
9. Responds to ad hoc requests for data, data analysis, and presentation materials.
10. Provides support to the project controls functional group as and when required.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required.
2. Education: Degree or advanced degree from an accredited college or university. Engineering, Science, Quantity Surveying, or Business Management degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
3. Language: Excellent command of English required. Business fluent in German an advantage.
4. Experience: 10+ years of experience as a project controls manager for large (> 100 Mio CHF) pharmaceutical projects.
5. Experience in an EPCm organization is considered a plus.
6. Ability to interpret data in a consistent and efficient manner and articulate relevant information to senior management.
7. Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal and influencing skills.
8. Microsoft office proficient.
9. Primavera P6 proficient.
10. Proficiency in SAP, SAP Ariba and Oracle Primavera Unifier is desirable.
11. Experience working in a global environment.
12. Experience in pharmaceutical projects using Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning type contracts.
13. Strong analytical skills. Ability to conduct analysis of complex/large data sets, draw conclusions accordingly, and prepare and support decisions.
14. Able to deal with ambiguity – can conform to shifting priorities and demands.
15. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
