Take responsibility for manpower, budget, schedule, and technical accuracy.Work with the sales team to interface with customers, define and document design requirements, establish the overall project schedule, address technical concerns, and provide project status updates.Ensure compliance with all contract requirements and deliverables by collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers in Engineering Services, enabling timely project development and successful deliveries for our customers.Lead and coordinate engineering meetings with cross-functional teams, reviewing design progress and engineering analysis to ensure projects meet all design requirements and technical specifications.Interface with customers and keep the team and management informed of project progress.Learn and apply SoftInWay’s design tools in the project development process.Collaborate with SoftInWay’s software development team to improve and enhance turbomachinery design tools from system, subsystem, component levels, and material points of view.Demonstrate basic knowledge/familiarity of mechanical design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, lifing methods related to Low and High Cycle Fatigue (LCF & HCF), and creep.Have a general understanding of applying Finite Element Analysis and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) capabilities in turbomachinery development.Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be capable of making technical and project-related presentations internally and to customers.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience, Master’s degree preferred.10 years of experience in product development, coupled with strong project management/leadership skills.Turbomachinery experience in flowpath aerodynamics/thermodynamics is strongly preferred, but we would also consider candidates with experience in other industries utilizing R&D and Mechanical Engineering Services.Attention to detail and a strong focus on maintaining and improving the design process.Proven track record of managing and leading engineering staff.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English language (German is a plus) and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to drive change, manage conflict, and achieve results. #J-18808-Ljbffr
