The Financial Engineering team serves as the competence center for quantitative research within the portfolio management division of Swiss Life Asset Managers' third-party business. We specialize in the analysis and development of systematic investment and hedging strategies, alongside portfolio construction and optimization techniques. Our team collaborates closely with portfolio managers throughout both the analysis and implementation phases of strategies. We foster an interdisciplinary and ambitious environment, and we are currently seeking a motivated working student (f/m/d) to join us for two days a week (40%) to assist in the development and maintenance of our proprietary quantitative tools and IT/data infrastructure.

Responsibilities
* Development and maintenance of web applications.
* Designing and implementing cloud-based data pipelines.
* Designing and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines to enhance data retrieval and generation processes.
* Supporting the analysis and development of systematic investment and risk management strategies.
Experience
* Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, quantitative finance, applied mathematics, or natural sciences.
* Practical experience with object-oriented programming languages, preferably Python.
* Familiarity with front-end development: TypeScript, CSS, React.
* Solid knowledge of databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, RedisDB.
* Understanding of data pipelining tools like Airflow is a plus.
* Initial experience in quantitative analysis or the financial industry is a plus.
* Initial experience with financial data is a plus.
* Strong analytical skills, result-oriented, self-motivated, eager to learn, and a team player.
* Ability to communicate and present in a concise and clear manner.
* Excellent English skills (both written and spoken); good knowledge of German and French is desirable.
