We are searching for an experienced, engaging, and responsible nanny to care for a 6-month-old baby in Saint-Sulpice. This role requires a nurturing individual who is passionate about child development, attentive to the needs of a young child, and respects the family’s values in early education and boundaries. This position is perfect for someone who loves to explore and foster curiosity, guiding a child in discovering the world around them.
Responsibilities:
1. Engagement and Development:
Provide age-appropriate activities to stimulate cognitive, sensory, and motor skills.
Encourage exploration and curiosity, introducing the baby to various experiences and new stimuli.
Support early language and communication development through songs, stories, and interactions.
2. Routine Care:
Follow the baby’s feeding and nap schedules as established by the parents.
Diaper changes and assist with maintaining hygiene.
Prepare and handle bottle feeding, ensuring proper sanitization and handling.
3. Outdoor Time and Physical Activity:
Take the baby outside daily (weather permitting) to parks or for strolls in nature to promote physical and sensory engagement.
Provide a safe environment while introducing the child to the world around them.
4. Guiding Early Boundaries and Respecting Family Values:
Set gentle boundaries, helping the baby begin to understand routines and limits as they grow.
Respect the family’s approach to parenting and support their educational methods.
Offer comfort and emotional support while encouraging independence.
5. Household Support (related to child care):
Maintain cleanliness in areas used by the baby, including play areas and feeding spaces.
Communicate regularly with the parents regarding the child’s needs and any observations.
Qualities Sought:
The family is looking for a nanny who is curious, adventurous, and eager to introduce their child to new experiences. They value a candidate who is gentle but confident in setting boundaries, capable of providing both warmth and guidance. Requirements:
1. Legal Eligibility to Work in Switzerland:
Valid EU passport or a Swiss work permit.
2. Experience in Infant Care:
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience caring for infants, with familiarity in providing age-appropriate stimulation and following a structured routine.
3. Checkable References:
At least two verifiable references from previous families or employers.
4. First Aid Certification:
Up-to-date infant and child first aid and CPR certification.
5. Language Skills:
Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
6. Qualities:
Warm, reliable, and able to support both the emotional and developmental needs of infants.
Comfortable working in a household where parents may occasionally work from home.
