Central to Alpiq’s strategy is a growing and dynamic energy trading, sales and origination business which relies on cutting edge IT services and applications to compete and succeed. To strengthen our Trading IT Analytics Team we are looking for an experienced professional as Trade Analytics Technical Lead. This position is located in Lausanne and reports to the Head IT Trading & Analytics.
Your Responsibilities
1. Lead an IT team on Trading Analytics to provide the IT architecture and technical layer for Fundamental Analysis and Quantitative Analysis business teams
2. Facilitate the normalization, development, integration, continuous improvement, along with the control of the production execution
3. Collaborate with business teams to define requirements and objectives for new solutions, ensuring their alignment with strategic goals
4. Work closely with IT and development teams to ensure the technical infrastructure supports the efficient deployment and operation of production solutions
5. Oversee the model deployment process, ensuring models are integrated seamlessly into the trading operations and that all regulatory and compliance requirements are met
6. Monitor performance and lead the IT processes on business model enhancements and optimizations based on trading outcomes and market conditions
7. Facilitate communication between trading, quantitative analysis, and IT teams to ensure clear understanding of model capabilities, limitations, and operational impact
8. Develop and maintain documentation for Architecture, solutions, integrations, models, including model specifications, deployment procedures, and performance metrics
9. Stay abreast of the latest developments in Analytics, trading and commodity markets to drive innovation and competitive advantage
10. Advocate for best practices in development, deployment, and governance within the trading and analytics teams
Your Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or a related field
2. Extensive experience in quantitative trading or analytics within commodity markets
3. Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and experience working closely with IT development teams
4. Professional certifications in quantitative finance, such as Master in Quantitative Finance, CFA, CQF or similar, are highly desirable.
5. Strong background in models execution architectures and development, with a deep understanding of commodity trading strategies and market dynamics
6. Proficiency in programming (e.g., Python, Java, C, C++, C#, R, MATLAB)
7. Good knowledge on integration of Models and cloud execution solutions
8. Demonstrated ability to translate trading and market analysis requirements into quantitative model integration specifications
9. Good project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple projects simultaneously
10. Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex quantitative concepts to non-technical stakeholders
11. Experience with regulatory and compliance requirements related to trading and financial models
12. Proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to drive innovation in trading analytics
