The Kaiseraugst production site is a cornerstone of Roche's global production and logistics network. Over 1900 people are employed here and the site is home to Roche's largest and most innovative packaging operation in the world. Parenteral Launches and New Technology Stream (PLANTS) is responsible for Introduction of New Products (Technical transfers) and Implementation of New Technologies on our manufacturing site in Kaiseraugst.
The Opportunity
The Asset Design and Implementation Team comprises experts with extensive cross-functional expertise. As an Asset Design and Implementation Expert, you will work in both local and global projects to evaluate, implement, and develop new technologies, systems, processes or equipment to improve productivity and increase product manufacturability at the Kaiseraugst site. In your role, you will collaborate closely with production units in the areas of filling, assembly, and packaging, as well as with local support interfaces. Furthermore, you will act as a representative of the Kaiseraugst site in projects with our global partners.
Key responsibilities:
* Build strong, collaborative relationships with production areas and global partners, identifying and solving production issues through technical solutions.
* Lead or support projects to improve productivity, costs, and manufacturability, coordinating equipment optimization and new technology integration in collaboration with stakeholders.
* Participate in investment projects, including feasibility studies and technical evaluations, and prepare related applications with profitability analyses.
* Develop and implement new production or automation concepts; manage project documentation, including specifications and risk analyses.
* Support equipment setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and post-project hypercare phases.
* Participate in qualification, validation and document management activities (e.g. instructions, setting lists).
* Analyze production data to optimize equipment and processes for device and packaging manufacturability.
* Manage changes, deviations, and ensure compliance with GMP and SHE standards, whilst demonstrating a LEAN mindset as well as coaching the team on LPS for ongoing improvements.
Who you are
Do you bring a degree in a technical field or vocational training as a technician, with at least 3 years of experience, ideally in pharmaceutical production (filling/device assembly/packaging)? We are seeking a strong communicator, team player, and problem-solver with excellent organizational skills.
Further competencies and qualifications:
* Extensive experience in GMP environments, with knowledge of device assembly, packaging, and/or filling preferred.
* Entrepreneurial, pragmatic, and strategic thinker with an end-to-end process view and adaptability to a changing environment.
* Service-oriented, customer-focused, and collaborative, with excellent communication skills in German and English.
* Proficient in IT systems (e.g., Google applications, SAP-PM), with knowledge of LPS (Lean Production System).
* Knowledge/experience with programming and operating robotic applications is a plus.
* Ability to inspire others and foster commitment; confident presence in both local and global settings.
* Willingness to travel to suppliers (approx. 10-20%).
