What You’ll Do
IronArch Technology is looking for an Accessibility Project Manager that will exist as a hybrid of a Project Manager, Product Manager, and Delivery Manager on the Digital Experience Accessibility program. This individual will not only drive collaboration and task prioritization across the program team but work alongside program leads and stakeholders to help establish and manage the strategic priorities of the program team over the period of performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Shapes the vision and narrative for the product by developing artifacts, like a “product brief” and related roadmaps; with the goal of instilling a shared purpose and metrics to define success.
2. Works with customers to develop strategies that focus on the highest value outcomes for the program given goals, needs, and constraints.
3. Successfully advocates for user needs and lean methods when setting priorities and managing tradeoffs.
4. Leads the team through 2-week iterations of agile software delivery, defining and eliciting approval for sprint goals, leading the team through agile ceremonies (sprint review, sprint planning, stand-up, etc.), and supporting the prioritization of the backlog of work items.
5. Leads with a cross-functional understanding of accessibility and accessibility best practices.
6. Works with program leads to translate customer vision and drive project activities to successful outcomes and advises customers on strategic vision and priorities of the program.
7. Thinks strategically when recognizing issues and conflicts, problem-solves solutions, and turns barriers into opportunities.
8. Manages and tracks the work of the program’s accessibility specialists in support of all VFS products via GitHub tickets, Looker Studio dashboard, and Slack channel communication.
9. Supports the tracking and monitoring of key accessibility success metrics in support of leading the team in the prioritization and achievement of sprint goals and priorities.
10. Supports the increased use of analytics and tracking of metrics to ensure that the program team is contributing to and meeting OCTO’s Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
11. Collaborates with all VFS product teams within the collaboration cycle and VA.gov Platform governance processes.
12. Supports the accessibility champions program.
13. Communicates regularly with the VA 508 office to ensure alignment on priorities, responsibilities, and collaboration.
14. Focuses on the operational aspects of the team, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to devise or improve processes and procedures.
15. Motivates and guides the program team to achieve program objectives and scope.
16. Gains an understanding of the respective team and how this team aligns to the organizational ecosystem.
17. Supports the development of the monthly report submitted to the VA that details the program’s status, sprint team velocity, and sprint team goal completion and provides links to all stories, epics, and other work completed within the program’s scope.
18. Communicates effectively in Slack, GitHub tickets, and process documents.
19. Collaborates with operations and administration team members to initiate operational and strategic initiatives.
20. Contributes metrics to the program’s shared scorecard to demonstrate the impact of the team’s accessibility work and show progress towards our key success metrics.
21. Manages the development of briefings, presentations, and reviews for internal and external program meetings.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience
2. Experience with Agile project management methodology
3. Advanced knowledge of fundamental project management processes, methodologies, tools, and techniques, with the ability to adapt them to the organization
4. Experience with project management software tools
5. Strong influential skills with the ability to drive consensus from varying stakeholders
6. Experience leading cross-functional program teams and priorities
7. Experience leading the strategic vision of a program, including developing product artifacts such as a program roadmap, with the goal of instilling a shared purpose and metrics to define success
8. Cross-functional understanding of accessibility and accessibility best practices
9. Knowledge in Web Content Accessibility Guidance 2.2 (WCAG 2.2)
10. Experience with Section 508 Compliance
11. General understanding of government operations, rules, and regulations
12. Previous product leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
1. Previous experience working within the Veterans Affairs ecosystem/landscape or with VFS teams
2. IAAP Certification, CPACC Certification, and/or WAS Certification
