- Trade gasoline paper with a link with Aromatics, lpg and naphtha, understand the physical cargoes arbitrage
- Optimize the paper flow and risks to monetize optionality.
- Identify and implement trading arbitrage opportunities. Participate in trade negotiations
- Develop personal relationships with market counterparts and develop the market analysis with accurate and dynamic SnD.
- Anticipate, evaluate, and review the impact of trades with the teams for risk and value, and with Ops & Shipping Desk for operational adequacy.
- Coordinate actions with other offices when needed.
Accountabilities:
- Accountable for contributing to the Gasoline Desk P&L and the profitable growth of the portfolio and trading strategies.
- Responsible for the adherence to contracts (spot, long-term, short-term, shipping) relevant to trading activities.
- Comply with delegated trading limits and company procedures (Compliance, HSE, Vetting, etc.).
- Operate to the highest standards of compliance, safety, ethics, and business excellence.
- Develop supplier and customer relationships and use innovation to enhance trading tools.
Candidate Profile
University-educated level in relevant subjects (e.g., finance, business, mathematics).
- More than 5 years of experience in trading, acquired within the petroleum industry, a physical and paper commodities trading company, ideally a trading department of a major oil company
- A focus on gasoline from an analytical and speculative risk standpoint as well as a previous experience on paper market is compulsory.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of traders and a quantitative function.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of accomplishment.
- Knowledge and experience in shipping and trading operations (including product storage) and risk analysis.
- High-energy drive, resistant to stress, intensive work capacity, strong communication skills, and team spirit required, with the highest standards of business integrity.
- Demonstrated autonomy and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of a second language is essential (ideally mastering English and Spanish or another language)
- Willingness to travel on short notice and potential geographical mobility.
