ADAMA is currently seeking an Insecticides Product Manager for our Global Insecticides Product Development team.
The Global Product Manager is the person in charge of the Active Ingredients under their responsibility and related products, optimizing the value of the company's assets through detailed study of industry data and trends, as well as the actual and expected business performance of those actives and products, leading to recommendations for operations and marketing improvements.
The Global Product Manager makes recommendations for the ideal roadmap based on historical data, industry trends and future market scenarios to maximize the performance of their portfolio. The product strategy plans focus on the competitive landscape and the latest innovations in the industry.
The Global Product Manager will be working as part of a global function, experiencing cross functional and multicultural working opportunities.
This role reports to the Insecticides Global Sector Head and is located primarily in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. Remote and commuting models may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities & Activities:
* Develop and implement active ingredient strategies under the guidance of Sector Head.
* Responsibilities in all phases of a product life cycle (ideation to phase-out), including presentations to senior management to approve new product concepts, influence supply chain decisions, and drive new product launches.
* Maximize the short and long-term value of Active Ingredients (AIs) working closely with Anchor and Important countries.
* Analyze performance data to understand how our products are performing and why.
* Create timely reports of issues for the Sector Head and Company Executives to support decision making.
* Work alongside the 3rd party team to sign strategic collaborations for out licensing and in-licensing for gap filling.
* Optimize revenue and profit by identifying and communicating the optimum product positioning to the country level Marketing and Sales teams.
* Primary source of information and input into product strategy.
* Work with Product Development and other stakeholders to learn and share product feature details.
* Gaining commitment across multiple functions, levels and countries.
* Spotting issues early and proactively taking actions.
* Help train the trainers on key features for each new product release.
* Provide local Marketing with relevant performance (RTB) data.
* Active progress toward pipeline product stage gate progression/advancement or terminations.
* License to operate: active ingredients are often under regulatory threats which must be mitigated.
Requirements:
* >7 years experience in a similar role in the crop protection industry - MUST
* Expertise in Insecticides - strongly preferred.
* Experience working in multifunctional and culturally diverse virtual teams.
* Experience in other functional domains - advantage.
* Strong people skills and ability to influence across the matrix.
* Excellent communication, mediation and negotiation skills.
* Strategic thinker.
* Strong analytical abilities.
Education, Language:
* Relevant academic degree (Plant Protection / Agronomy / Biology / Plant Science etc.).
* MBA – advantage.
* Excellent written and spoken English.
