Key Responsibilities
Responsibility for respective shift and its operational activities, financial performance, ensuring that Company and health and safety policies and procedures are always applied and adhered to. Regular communications with the Customer will be a major part of this role and Customer satisfaction will be paramount.
1. Work with site manager to develop and maintain a working relationship with the customer and their associates ensuring that agreed Quality and Performance standards are always achieved.
2. Fully understand customer requirements and adopt an approach which will ensure that customer’s needs are met and exceeded.
3. Work alongside the site manager to understand Health & Safety related risks and take action. Ensure that all legal requirements are met.
4. Responsible for the management, motivation and development of the on site management team, ensuring and maintaining open communication on a day to day basis.
5. Support in development of the Maersk culture and values within the site ensuring areas such as equal opportunities, Health and Safety etc. are given priority.
6. Objective setting of realistic and demanding KPI's, actively seeking ways of improving efficiency, performance and reducing costs throughout the whole site.
7. Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in all site operations.
8. Ensure effective resource planning and management to meet customer and business requirements.
9. Ensure compliance with all Company operating and administrative procedures.
10. Ensure that all inbound, outbound and internal stock movement processes are recorded and reported accurately, compliantly and on a timely basis within the Relevant Warehouse Management System
11. Ensure compliance to all required submissions of daily, weekly, monthly documentation to HMRC.
12. Ensure overall stock is controlled and discrepancies are within the agreed tolerances.
13. Development and implementation of a site Succession Plan and ensure ongoing people development planning
We are looking for
14. Microsoft Office (advanced level)
15. Employment Law knowledge
16. Budget setting and finance control
17. Understanding of WMS
18. Operational warehouse management skills
19. Communication and relationship building at all levels (Customer, HMRC, Management, Operations).
20. Ability to lead, direct and motivate across all departments.
21. Development of Management roles within the site succession plan.
22. Fluent in French and English both in writing and speaking
