YOUR IMPACT
As Legal Counsel, Claims you will:
1. Manage cargo and vessel related incidents with a view to mitigate losses and save costs.
2. Provide legal assistance (by seeking support from Lawyer) and advice to our agency network when the case requires.
3. Supervise the work of the agencies’ claims departments.
4. Appoint suitable experts and lawyers.
5. Liaise with our insurers.
6. Investigate incidents to assess liabilities and extent of damage.
7. Negotiate claim settlements with customers, terminals, vessel owners etc.
8. Report to the management and offer solutions to re-occurring issues (loss prevention).
9. Initiate and follow up recovery of sums of money from liable third parties.
10. Handle vessel related incidents.
11. Generally, assist the manager in respect of various tasks / comply with various tasks assigned by manager.
12. Create a line of communication with other Departments at MSC HQ, mostly Gva logistic, Gva operation, Gva liner.
13. Provide statistics in Excel / PowerPoint format to Dept. Manager based on the data received by MSC Agents.
YOUR BACKGROUND
1. Legal / marine insurance background.
2. Knowledge of shipping business.
3. Ability to work autonomously.
4. Sense of responsibility.
5. Self-motivation.
6. Proven ability to work in a team environment.
7. Language Skills – very good knowledge of spoken and written English.
8. Good knowledge of Microsoft applications (specifically Excel).
CONTRACT DETAILS
1. Based in Geneva.
2. Full Time.
3. Starting ASAP.
4. Eligible to work in Switzerland (Swiss or EU citizen, or existing Swiss work permit).
