Job Description:
We are seeking a live-in junior nanny to join a warm and welcoming Swiss family in their lakeside home near Biel/Bienne and Neuchætal. The family consists of three children, including twins aged 7 and an older boy, with newborn twins expected in June.
The successful candidate will be responsible for caring for the older children, assisting with morning and after-school routines, organizing activities, and supporting the parents with light household tasks related to the children.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior nanny to develop confidence and skills in a dynamic family setting. While the mother will be on maternity leave, she will need an extra pair of hands to help balance the needs of the whole family.
The ideal candidate should be able to drive, be a confident swimmer, and speak English or French. Working hours are flexible, starting at 30 hours per week, with the potential for more hours in the future.
Requirements:
* A warm, easy-going, and kind personality, with a genuine love for children.
* A non-smoking position.
* Strong communication skills, fluent in English or French.
* Plenty of experience caring for children, with the ability to plan engaging, age-appropriate activities.
* Patient and creative in engaging young children, introducing games, and spending time outdoors.
* Physically active and enjoys outdoor activities.
* Flexible and adaptable to the family's schedule, including occasional changes in parents' work hours or plans.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to maintain a clean and organized personal space if living in.
* Ability to work collaboratively with parents when they are present at home.
The family offers private accommodation in a self-contained studio with a separate entrance, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. A full driving license and recent Paediatric First Aid certificate are required. Good references and childcare qualifications are also essential.
