We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactiveCommissioning and Qualification (C&Q) Engineer to join our teamand support the successful execution of equipment and utilitysystem commissioning. In this role, you will play a pivotal role inensuring that all systems operate to specifications and compliancestandards while working in close collaboration with our engineeringand project teams.
As a CommissioningEngineer, for support and align product and production-specificrequirements:
Responsibilities:
-Provide field support for the commissioning and qualification ofkey utility and process systems managed by the DeltaV DistributedControl System (DCS).
- Leadefforts in commissioning critical systems such as clean and blackutilities, HVAC for both classified and non-classified areas,environmental monitoring systems, and SIP/CIPsystems.
- Ensure all utilitysystems are commissioned to meet project timelines, qualitystandards, and operational needs.- Provide field support for thecommissioning and qualification of key utility and process systemsmanaged by the DeltaV Distributed Control System(DCS).
- Execute and validate comprehensivecommissioning and qualification protocols using the KNEATelectronic documentationsystem.
- Perform detailedsystem tests including operational sequence checks (start-up,shutdown, emergency stops), control loop tuning, pump and fantesting, and safety interlocktesting.
- Provide experttroubleshooting for any technical issues encountered duringcommissioning and propose timely, proactivesolutions.
- Oversee the integration of DeltaVsystem hardware and software, ensuring seamless connectivity withvarious utility systems.
- Workclosely with engineering teams to troubleshoot and optimize controlsystem processes, maintaining operationalreliability.
- Support the project team bydelivering actionable insights that enable quick decision-makingaimed at minimizing costs and project delays, without compromisingquality.
- Ensure alignment ofequipment commissioning with internal standards, cGMP guidelines,and regulatory frameworks.
- Uphold strict safetyand compliance protocols, including risk assessment,Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) preparation, and adherence to Lonza'sHealth, Safety, and Environmental (HSE)standards.
- Document issuesand non-conformances in the KNEAT system, ensuring timelyresolution and tracking of projectchanges.
- Train and guide team members oncommissioning and qualification best practices, ensuring the teamremains up to date on the latest methodologies and regulatoryrequirements.
- Foster aculture of continuous improvement, contributing innovativesolutions to streamline future commissioningefforts.
DesiredProfile:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalentin Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Process Control, or relatedfields).
- 5-10 years of hands-onexperience in process commissioning, with at least 3 years focusedon utility systems.
- Proficiency incommissioning and troubleshooting DeltaV DCS, particularly usingDeltaV Operate, Live, and Control Studio.
-Familiarity with KNEAT for CQV execution, and a strongunderstanding of regulatory requirements within the Life Sciencesindustry.
- Fluent in English, both written andverbal; German proficiency is a plus.
-In-depth knowledge of cGMP standards and field CQVexecution.
- Strong problem-solvingabilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolvingtechnical challenges.
- A team player withexcellent communication skills, able to work effectively in adiverse, cross-functional environment.
-Willingness to work extended hours and shifts when necessary,ensuring compliance with legal working timeregulations.Demonstrated ability to work responsibly, especiallywith the owned system.
