PhD Student Position in Durability of Wooden Structures
We are passionate about materials science and technology. Our cutting-edge research contributes to the well-being of society for a better future.
The successful candidate will design and operate experiments to investigate failure mechanisms in wooden structures. This involves mechanical testing combined with various sensors to track changes in the structures. Surface analytical techniques will be used to characterize detected changes.
The PhD student will work closely with another researcher and a post-doc to study failure mechanisms and generate high-quality sensor data.
About the Position
* MSc in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering required
* Experience in measuring mechanical properties of materials desirable
* Enthusiasm for experimental setup design and operation essential
* Highly motivated team player with an interdisciplinary mindset
* Experience with vibration or acoustic emission sensors advantageous
