We are seeking an exceptional Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team working on the ATLAS Experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider. This is a two-year position with the possibility of a two-year extension.
About Us:
The DPNC ATLAS group is a key contributor to the ITk Pixel construction, particularly the Outer Barrel component. We have a rich history in silicon detector development for various experiments and applications. Our group plays leading roles in design, construction, and integration, while also contributing significantly to the ATLAS physics program and experiment operations. We have extensive expertise in machine learning applications for particle physics.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead DPNC's ITk construction and commissioning efforts;
Collaborate with engineering teams and supervise doctoral and master students;
Potential involvement in machine learning projects or physics analysis;
Potential participation in R&D for future colliders;
Limited teaching duties at the University of Geneva.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Ph.D. in Physics or related field;
Proven experience in particle physics research;
Strong track record as an independent researcher;
Expertise in Silicon sensor instrumentation and hardware systems;
Proficiency in software programming and data analysis;
Excellent teamwork and communication skills;
Fluency in English; knowledge of French is advantageous.
