Overview
We have a requirement for an experienced Construction Project Manager to join the PM Group. For this role, we need someone who has the capability to manage Mechanical Construction activities for a large scale pharmaceutical construction project.
This is a Site Based Role in Switzerland.
Responsibilities
* Institutes a culture of safety, quality, speed, and effectiveness. Oversees the implementation of the applicable processes and procedures to manage the Mechanical construction activities.
* Provides leadership in the delivery of the Mechanical workscope through expert knowledge of mechanical engineering and construction, hands-on experience in the delivery of highly serviced sites, and management capability to balance the competing project requirements.
* Liaises with the General Contractor and Design Team to make the best decisions for the project that align with the project objectives. Understands the design concepts, drawings, and specifications and oversees the construction planning and execution activities to ensure safe and compliant execution of works with the required outcomes.
* Understands the applicable statutory and utility interfaces including submittal and coordination requirements to support the mechanical construction activities and services connections required.
* Understands the project direction and drives the key milestones to achieve the required project schedule. Monitors progress against the schedule and facilitates planning to mitigate challenges.
* Understands the contracting strategy, the procurement plan, and the cost control processes. Supports contract administration through the provision of technical inputs. Identifies cost challenges and opportunities and enables planning in response.
* Provides weekly and monthly status and progress reports across Safety, Quality, and Schedule for Mechanical construction including identification of risks and responses.
Qualifications
* Degree in Construction or Engineering or related discipline.
* At least 10 years experience in Mechanical Construction and/or Engineering.
* At least 5 years of construction experience in Pharmaceutical / Life Science Projects.
* Right to work in Europe.
* Strong work ethic, high level of integrity, self-motivated, proactive, with a creative approach to thinking and problem-solving.
* Good interpersonal skills with proven ability of collaboration within a multi-discipline team in a large-scale construction environment.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written with proven capability in reporting to senior management levels; additional languages are an advantage.
* Good organizational and time management skills with ability to produce accurate work within strict timelines.
* Operates independently to a high standard.
