1. Organizational Context
The IP and Innovation Ecosystems Sector (IES) coordinates with other WIPO sectors to assist Member States in developing their IP and innovation ecosystems to drive economic growth. IES supports researchers, innovators, and enterprises, including SMEs, in IP commercialization and related advisory expertise.
The position is located in the Internet Dispute Resolution Section of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, which resolves intellectual property disputes outside of court litigation. This section administers domain name disputes and addresses policy developments related to Internet dispute resolution.
2. Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will perform the following principal duties:
1. Provide input in the assignment and supervision of work of Legal Case Managers, offering guidance on case management issues.
2. Assist Senior Legal Officers in reviewing panel decisions for inclusion in WIPO's publicly available resources.
3. Contribute to the development and implementation of IT applications supporting case administration.
4. Propose allocations of WIPO panelists based on case requirements.
5. Maintain relations with users, organizations, and registrars regarding Internet dispute resolution.
6. Participate in seminars, workshops, and training, delivering training and presentations on Internet dispute resolution.
7. Conduct legal research on Internet dispute resolution to maintain WIPO's role in this area.
8. Perform other related duties as required.
3. Requirements
Education: First-level university degree in law. University degree or studies in intellectual property and/or alternative dispute resolution.
Experience (Essential): At least three years of relevant professional experience in intellectual property law or alternative dispute resolution.
Language Skills: Excellent written and spoken knowledge of English. Good knowledge of another UN official language and/or a language relevant to WIPO domain name proceedings.

4. Salary Information
Total annual salary consists of a net annual salary (net of taxes) and a post adjustment. The post adjustment multiplier is variable and subject to change. The figures quoted below are based on the October 2024 rate:
* P2: $50,377
* Post Adjustment: $48,009
* Total: $98,386 (Currency: USD)
Salaries and allowances are paid in Swiss francs at the official rate of exchange of the United Nations.
Temporary appointments are renewable subject to continuing needs, budget availability, and satisfactory performance, with a maximum cumulative length of two years.
