YOUR ROLE
As a Scrum Master, you will lead self-organizing teams to deliver business value in collaboration with our client from the luxury goods industry. You will partner with Product Owners to define, refine, and prioritize the product backlog to feed sprints. You will proactively remove impediments, coach team members on Agile-at-scale practices, ensure consistent application of these practices, and lead/animate Scrum ceremonies. Working in a global environment, you will navigate highly distributed teams across various countries and time zones while interacting with stakeholders at different management levels.
Key responsibilities include:
* Mentoring team members on Agile values, principles, practices, and processes;
* Partnering with Product Owners and team members to adopt and practice the Scrum Framework;
* Helping teams improve their ability to self-manage and self-organize;
* Ensuring adherence to team agreements such as Definition of Ready, Definition of Done, and Working Agreement;
* Establishing, tracking, and communicating Agile metrics (e.g., team velocity, sprint progress/burn down charts) to stakeholders and management;
* Promoting continuous improvement by leveraging metrics to identify and measure progress;
* Assisting Product Owners in developing/release plans, including release dates and scope;
* Facilitating Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives;
* Facilitating discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution within teams;
* Shielding teams from external distractions and interference;
* Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders;
* Proactively identifying and resolving impediments to ensure sprint releases stay on track;
* Participating in cross-team collaboration through Scrum of Scrum meetings;
* Contributing to the company’s Agile Community by sharing best practices and fostering collaboration;
* Supporting the preparation of Quarterly Alignment Days (PI Planning-like events).
YOUR PROFILE
* B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field;
* Certified Scrum Master with proven experience leading large and global projects;
* Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master for a software development team applying Scrum principles and practices;
* Knowledge of well-documented patterns and techniques for addressing gaps in the Scrum approach (e.g., Burndown techniques, Retrospective formats);
* Familiarity with additional Agile methodologies such as XP or Kanban (a plus);
* Experience with Agile-at-scale frameworks like SAFe (an asset);
* Proficiency with widely successful Agile techniques, including User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, and Automated Testing;
* Familiarity with tools in the Atlassian Suite, including JIRA and Confluence (Bitbucket or Gitlab is a plus);
* Basic knowledge of Release Management (code branching, code versioning);
* Experience as a Project Manager (a plus);
* Strong ability to mentor, motivate, and inspire development teams;
* Excellent skills in servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, and fostering continual improvement;
* Effective communication skills with technical and business stakeholders at all levels;
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills;
* Ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced, distributed environment with high expectations;
* Fluency in English and French is required.
