Job Description:
Support RSHM Team and Regional Hubs in Human Mobility
The Support will work closely with the regional hubs' team to strengthen their capacity in human mobility, focusing on forced displacement. This involves collaborating with UNDP's Communities of Practice, specifically the Human Mobility Community, through engagement with regional hubs and country offices to develop case studies and document learning.
To achieve this goal, the Support will contribute to strengthening partnerships with key partners, particularly those based in Geneva, such as UNHCR, IOM, and UNICEF. They will prepare briefing notes and talking points for UNDP's participation in inter-agency coordination processes, and write up meeting summaries for internal sharing.
The Support will also assist in planning and organizing UNDP Human Mobility events, including the launch of new publications and partner external events. Additionally, they will help update donor mapping related to human mobility and engage with priority donors, contributing to resource mobilization activities such as concept note preparation and proposal writing.
Other tasks may include supporting the Recovery Solutions and Human Mobility team with miscellaneous duties as needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Enrolled in a graduate school programme in migration/forced displacement studies, international relations, economics, human rights, development, or other related fields;
* Graduated with a university degree (as described above) and starting the internship within one year of graduation;
* Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and beliefs;
* Relevant experience in human mobility, research, drafting, and editing documents; and
* Excellent analytical skills.
