Position Summary
The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Coffee (NPTC Coffee) is the leading R&D organization that discovers, develops and deploys coffee and beverage products and technologies for in-home and out-of-home consumption. It consists of units in Konolfingen (CH), Marysville (USA), Orbe (CH) and Singapore and provides new products and processes to all Nestlé markets worldwide.
As a SHE Officer, you will empower excellence in Safety, Health and Environmental sustainability across R&D in Orbe (NPTC & NSTC). You will be in charge of driving the implementation of the SHE roadmap developed by the SHE Manager through application of the Nestlé Safety & Health Management System (NSMS) and Nestlé Environmental Management System (NEMS). In addition, you will provide coaching to embed SHE at all levels.
A Day in the Life of a SHE Officer
Identify SHE priorities, current & future challenges and opportunities for change
Implement plan co-developed with the SHE Manager
Guide implementation of the NSMS, NEMS, and other Group SHE Standards
Continuously improve SHE programs to deliver performance improvement and compliance according to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications
Implement SHE training plan for all R&D employees and coach them to help them take ownership, and lead SHE decisions within their area of responsibility
Coordinate local networks of SHE champions under the lead of the SHE Manager
Provide guidance and support on identifying, assessing and managing SHE risks and opportunities
Leverage SHE-Performance Management and other tools to monitor & analyze performance and improve decision making
Ensure that compliance is regularly audited and performance assessed, and the results are used to drive further improvement
Support SHE Manager to engage with stakeholders, local regulators, local communities on SH&E topics to build long term, positive relationships
Participate in external forums to benchmark with other companies, and share Nestlé practices
What will make you successful
Technical Degree plus SHE Certificate (Brevet Fédéral Suisse or equivalent)
Solid experience in an industrial or R&D environment
SHE Management systems knowledge
Proven SHE risk assessment and control
Machinery safety knowledge would be an asset
Previous experience in leading change projects to improve performance
Proven experience in analyzing complex problems to identify multiple root causes
Good knowledge in converted policies & standards into practical action plans (incl. ISO 14001 and 45001)
Capability to influence behavioral change in an organization
Prior experience in cross-functional teams with excellent stakeholder management
Effective communication skills at all organizational levels
Fluent in French & English
