Strategic CAPEX Growth Project Lead, Drug Product Services

At Lonza, Growth Projects (Capital projects) are a critical enabler for our success and must be independent and executed without impacting the base business. In this role, the Strategic CAPEX Growth Project Lead will act as the Project Champion for the Drug Project (DP) manufacturing facility expansion program (Project Dolphin) in Stein, CH. Project Dolphin is a CHF 500m plus CAPEX investment, creating over 400 new jobs and will significantly expand Lonza’s DP capabilities in Switzerland.
Key responsibilities:
Champions the DP expansion program in Stein, CH and leads governance across key functions: Operations, Engineering, Finance, Commercial, Sales, HR, Supply Chain, Procurement.
Mandated to oversee and guide delivery of the outcome of the project on behalf of a Steering Committee.
Responsible for achieving the business goals of the growth project including long term revenue.
Ensures the conformity of the project to the major goals (market, strategy, profitability) and provides its justification from a market, strategy and economics point of view.
Manages scope changes and impacts in alignment with Project Director.
Serves as the main contact person to (external) clients by securing an expedited flow of information.
Ensures the clarity of the contracts with customers to avoid misunderstandings.
Drives alignment with the Project Director to secure project business goal achievement.
Key requirements:
10+ years Operations or Quality background in the biotech or pharma sector and expert knowledge of biological Drug Product manufacturing.
2+ years of CMO (Contract Manufacturing) experience, in particular with Drug Product.
Experience leading large CAPEX projects, with a minimum value of CHF 100m.
Able to operate effectively in a complex matrix organization.
Executive level presence with an ability to present at Executive Committee and board level.
Solid and in-depth expertise in creating and developing novel business models and approaches that leverage existing and new assets to meet future on-demand needs and custom solutions.
