Main Purpose:
The Energy Trader is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and executing trading opportunities in the global market. They will manage relationships with suppliers, customers, and counterparties, while analyzing market trends to maximize profit and manage risk.

* Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
* Extensive experience in crude oil trading, with a strong focus on derivatives, pricing strategies, and exposure management
* Significant experience within US markets
* Advanced Python skills for building analytical tools, curve sheets, and trading models.
* Deep understanding of energy markets, pricing dynamics, and key fundamental drivers.
* Demonstrated success in enhancing trading systems, streamlining processes, and introducing innovative strategies.
* Thinking & Problem-Solving: Ability to assess complex scenarios, devise strategic solutions, and perform under pressure.
* Strong interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders, foster teamwork, and facilitate effective decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute trades across various markets while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
* Utilize Python to develop models for historical data analysis, market forecasting, and identifying trading opportunities.
* Perform in-depth market analysis, monitor pricing trends, and develop data-driven trading strategies.
* Track and manage trading positions.
* Work closely with market participants and other desks.
* Drive initiatives to enhance trading tools, improve system efficiency, and develop innovative solutions.
Competencies
* Previous experience in a trading company managing trades across multiple markets.
* A solid understanding of risk management, with experience developing dashboards and tools for managing exposure and compliance.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
