Job Description: Job Description
On behalf of our partner agency in Switzerland, we are looking for a kind, flexible, and practical nanny housekeeper to assist a young family in Geneva. The family is young, friendly, and dynamic. They travel frequently, and their housekeeper-nanny will accompany them. When traveling, there will be no housework, just general support for the family and looking after the child/children.
Currently, they have a 15-month-old and plan to have another baby in the next year or so.
Working hours are 40-45, generally Monday to Friday. 1 or 2 nights per week, the parents might go out, and they will ask you to watch the baby monitor.
The family lives in a pretty residential suburb of Geneva, with a nice house and garden.
The housekeeper will live in the family home, on her own floor, with a bedroom and bathroom, and an own mini fridge. She has full access to the kitchen, and it is expected that she will share in the family's meals. Unlike most positions, there will be no deduction for accommodation or food, and the salary will be around CHF 66,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience).
Housekeeper-nanny must be completely fluent in either English, French, Spanish, or Tagalog.
This family already employs a full-time housekeeper (50 hrs Monday to Friday), so your housework duties are limited to the times when the housekeeper is not working, and also supporting with the children, their meal and snack preparation, washing, tidying, and cleaning the children's rooms, wardrobe management. Mum is very hands-on, so you will be needed to help with the child mostly getting her up in the mornings and feeding breakfast and help again later afternoon with meal preparation, feeding, bath, and bedtime.
You will have time to yourself during most of the afternoon to do as you please. They prefer a housekeeper who has baby experience to help with their current 15-month-old, but also to help with a second baby in the future. At that time, they will engage a maternity nurse to help with the first 3 months.
The family has a preference for an applicant who has previous experience of traveling with a family, by car, train, and plane. Packing and unpacking the children's items and settling children in a new destination. They are very much looking for someone who has childcare as well as housekeeping experience. It would be an advantage if you can drive, but it is not a requirement, and the public transport in the area is good.
To be accepted for an interview with this lovely family and excellent position, you will need to already have a work permit for Switzerland or possess a Swiss or EU passport.
