We are looking for an experienced Senior Director Product Management (m/f/d) who is going to be responsible to lead the global product management function of a ~$1.5 Bn Transport (pumps, turbines, digital) product portfolio and technologies. The individual in this role will lead and support to define/execute strategies for the Transport products with the primary focus on organic profitable business growth, new product/platform development, value optimized design, product marketing & applications, services growth, pricing strategy, 80/20 project initiative and continuous margin expansion. The leader will also be directly involved and influence product channel strategy and geographic expansion.
Key business/portfolio metrics: Orders/sales growth, standard margin/margin expansion, and new product sales, new product funnel. The incumbent also has the responsibility to lead, coach and build the capabilities of his/her team of global product managers and regional segment managers.
Core products of the Transport segment: Submersible pumps, vertical turbine pumps, digital products, submersible turbines, packaged systems.

Tasks
Portfolio Management
* Oversee the entire product portfolio of $1.5 Bn, balancing investments across innovation, growth, and maintenance
* Make data-driven decisions on product lifecycle management, including launches, iterations, and sunsets including product compliance certifications
* Continue to simplify portfolio, lead 80/20 product simplification initiative and position products for organic growth and margin expansion
Metrics and Performance Management
* Define and monitor key product and business metrics (e.g., revenue, margin, adoption, retention, vitality index, New Product Sales)
* Ensure continuous learning by leveraging data and customer feedback to inform strategic adjustments
Governance and Process Optimization
* Establish frameworks for prioritization, decision-making, and performance measurement across product teams
* Continuously refine product development processes to improve speed, quality, and alignment with customer needs
* Be the Leader and Coach to successfully Implement 80/20 initiative in Transport portfolio
* Responsible for regulatory and statutory compliance of Transport products
Strategic Leadership
* Define and drive the product strategy in alignment with segment and company overarching strategy and goals
* Ensure product initiatives support long-term business objectives and market positioning
Market and Competitive Positioning
* Develop knowledge of market and competitors to identify emerging opportunities and threats, also have a close watch on regulatory changes that may impact product differentiation
* Strong focus on product differentiation and value proposition at a strategic level
Customer Focus and Growth
* Drive a highly responsive culture to provide outstanding customer focus (both for internal and external customers)
* Drive product-related revenue growth by ensuring alignment with sales and marketing strategies
* Identify and prioritize opportunities for scaling the business through new offerings, markets, or channels
Visionary Leadership
* Anticipate industry trends and position the company as a market leader through innovative product strategies
* Inspire teams and stakeholders with a bold vision and clear path to execution
Team Leadership and Development
* Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing product management team across the U.S, Europe and emerging markets
* Lead the transformation of our Transport product management from legacy, brand-specific, geographically centric teams into a highly functional, integrated teams providing best-in-class execution for products across Xylem’s full Transport portfolio
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Collaborate with other leaders (e.g., engineering, design, sales, marketing, and customer success)
* Align cross-functional teams on product strategy, priorities, and timelines
* Participate and demonstrate enterprise leadership in Growth and Innovation council meetings and related initiatives
Stakeholder Engagement
* Represent the product organization to the executive leadership team and board, articulating product impact and alignment with business goals
* Serve as a spokesperson for the company’s product vision with external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and analysts
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/manufacturing engineering, Master’s degree and/or MBA preferred
* Minimum 15 years of experience in the water industry or energy or any heavy machine industry; five (>7) years in a supervisory or management position
* Time tested candidate with global experience out of large global organizations in the industry sectors listed above with proven track record of performance
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Power Point and ERP systems
* Understands the role product managers play to drive profitable, sustainable growth of their product lines throughout the enterprise, in all regions, and across multiple functions
* Strong interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills to effectively work with customers, business partners, vendors, staff and management from a variety of skill levels and different authority levels
* Effective global collaboration across multiple sites, teams, functions and cultures
* Demonstrated experience working in an international environment and in a matrix organization
* Ability to travel 25% to 50%
