MISSION
The Officer - Metal Operations is involved in the operational monitoring of physical transactions realized with international mining groups and other actors in the precious metals environment. He/she oversees the entire supply chain, from ordering and warehousing to delivering cargo, and will be the interface between clients, suppliers, refiners, logistic agents, and the various internal departments at MKS PAMP SA, whether it is the front office or back office.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Obtaining client information on the next deliveries, updating the internal system with the new coming lots after identifying the lots' destination.
2. Managing and monitoring precious metals deliveries including ensuring completeness and accuracy of information and documentation received (airway bill, packing list, collection advise, assay certificate, etc.) and updating systems on the status of the shipments.
3. Working closely with traders, brokers, agents at origin and destination, inspection companies, clients, and suppliers to ensure the smooth flow of information between stakeholders.
4. Forecasting, inputting, and following up on provisional and final payments related to precious metal supply, based on payment terms and shipment status (transit, arrival at plant, metal assay) and working closely with Treasury Department.
5. Monitoring and reconciling client accounts and client balances (following up on price fixing, payment, and delivery dates).
6. Ensuring correct invoicing of services (refining, transportation, deleterious), including calculation of interests on provisional payments.
7. Preparing stock reconciliation, Profit and Loss analysis related to physical transactions, working closely with the Accounting Department.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor/Master’s degree level in Finance, Supply Chain, Economics or another relevant field.
2. Min 3 years of work experience preferably in a similar position.
3. Experience working in a commodity trading environment.
