Your key responsibilities: CUSTOMER Define account objectives, develop commercial strategy, implement through account plan. Identify and document business potentials and competitive landscape. Develop successful working relationships with (new and existing) clients, establishing dsm-firmenich as a key partner to obtain briefs for profitable business. Monitor client satisfaction and initiate corrective action where needed. Identify business opportunities, decision factors and success criteria, and define action plans accordingly. Create and manage technical innovation pipeline for customers. Negotiate with clients on commercial terms, including payment terms, prices for new business and increases for existing items. Maximize business vitality. PROJECTS Get clear and complete briefings from clients, understand their needs and technical challenges, and consult on the best dsm-firmenich solutions; brief creation and development teams. Anticipate clients' needs and technical challenges and develop proactive promotions/lead proactive projects to generate new business opportunities. Define accurate pricing and margin parameters for each project, according to guidelines, and enter all project information in the project management system according to established rules. Lead/coordinate projects with internal partners and with clients (including flavour and ingredient submissions). Deliver proactive and reactive projects, driving and coaching the technical team and participating in application work where needed to meet exact client needs. Share visit reports, client information and feedback, and conduct ‘lessons learned’ analysis when needed. ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT Manage products life cycle demand planning, customer care and supply chain to ensure a high level of service to clients and good working practices for dsm-firmenich. Support clients at relevant levels: Sales, Pricing, Creation and Development, Demand Planning, Customer Care, Regulatory, Finance. Build the account sales budget annually, monitor sales and profitability versus objectives, and provide input to quarterly Sales forecasts. Monitor and optimize all other financial aspects of the account, particularly expenses vs budget and clients' over dues vs objectives. Ensure all commercial data and documentation are accurate and properly maintained. Continuously improve and optimize profitability. You bring: Diploma in Food Science and/or Technology or equivalent. Minimum 2 years of relevant flavour, fragrance or ingredient industry experience. Team player – ability to work seamlessly in a high-performing team. Good business understanding of both dsm-firmenich and clients' businesses, objectives. Ability to develop client relationships successfully and to position dsm-firmenich as a key partner. Sales and Negotiation skills. Extended product expertise (product, market, consumer, technical/flavours/ingredients). Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to clients and to demonstrate products. Ability to develop strategic plans, define, prioritize and implement business opportunities and success factors. Decision-making skills. Business acumen (pricing, sales & profitability, expenses). Supply Chain understanding (product life cycle, demand planning, forecasting). Computer literacy.
