Position Purpose:
The Trade Finance Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the trade finance operations of the company. As part of the finance team, the assistant helps facilitate international trade transactions, ensuring all financial documentation and procedures comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
This role is designed to support the Trade Finance Manager in executing their responsibilities and ensuring the smooth running of the department.
The Trade Finance Assistant supports the Trade Finance Manager in overseeing and managing the company’s trade finance activities, forex transactions, and supplier payments. This position involves assisting with documentation, financial operations, and risk management, while maintaining robust communication with banks and financial institutions. The Trade Finance Assistant ensures accurate and efficient execution of trade finance tasks and supports the implementation of financial strategies as directed by the Trade Finance Manager.
Responsibilities
Primary duties will include:
* Trade Finance Support:
- Assist in preparing and submitting financing requests to banks under the guidance of the Trade Finance Manager.
- Support the management of trade finance documentation and due diligence processes.
- Help maintain accurate records of sales invoice domiciliation and update financing positions and open invoices.
* Forex Hedging Assistance:
- Support the management of futures positions to align with physical contracts, mitigating risk exposure.
- Assist in processing Forex trades in collaboration with bankers.
- Help maintain the internal Forex Hedge reporting system (Fintrade) with up-to-date information.
* Payment Processing:
- Assist in checking and inputting purchase invoices within the Fintrade system.
- Support the handling of final invoice liquidation processes.
- Assist in reviewing and approving supplier payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Provide support for the validation and signing of the company’s payments as directed.

Qualifications
To land this role you will need:
- At least 2 years experiences in a Commodity trading in the field of Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Experience or familiarity with trade finance operations, forex trading, and payment processing is preferred.
- Fluent in English, any other language is an asset
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in financial software systems, preferably experience with Fintrade.
