Sales Manager - Defence technology

About the Role:
On behalf of our client, a global defence technology company, we are seeking a seasoned Marketing and Sales Manager to lead business development and sales efforts across the Swiss market. This is a strategic position within a company supporting large-scale, long-term defence projects in partnership with national authorities.
The role focuses on driving growth by promoting a broad portfolio of advanced systems and solutions, particularly within the domains of C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence) and ISTAR & EW (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, Reconnaissance & Electronic Warfare).
Key Responsibilities:
* Research and assess relevant market opportunities, procurement cycles, competitors, and customer requirements.
* Develop and implement strategic sales plans and bid strategies, guiding opportunities from identification through to contract signature.
* Lead sales campaigns involving complex and multi-domain systems (hardware, software, communications).
* Actively build and manage relationships with government stakeholders, industry partners, and agents.
* Manage the full sales process: from identifying client needs and presenting tailored solutions, through to deal closure and account development.
* Serve as a critical interface between the company and its customers, ensuring long-term relationship building and customer satisfaction.
* Represent the company in meetings, presentations, and negotiations with key clients and partners.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams to align offerings with client expectations and technical possibilities.
* Handle coordination and administrative tasks related to the sales process and pipeline.
Your Background:
* Minimum 7 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in sales of complex systems in the defence, technology, or engineering sectors.
* Familiarity with the Swiss defence ecosystem, or previous collaboration with local clients and procurement bodies is strongly preferred.
* Experience working in or with military or defence institutions is a plus.
* Strong track record in business development, strategic selling, and CRM use.
* Excellent project management, budgeting, and negotiation skills.
Education & Training:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in Marketing, Business, or a relevant technical field.
* Additional professional qualifications in sales or marketing (e.g., Swiss federal diploma) are an advantage.
* On-the-job product training and continuous learning will be provided.
Languages:
* Fluency in German (C2) and English (C1) is required.
* Knowledge of a second Swiss national language and/or Hebrew is an asset.
