About The Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, within the Sales & Marketing department, the Director of Marketing & Communication is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s PR strategy, managing the brand identity and ensuring the property is well represented in all relevant media. The Director of Marketing & Communication reports to the Director of Marketing & Commercial Strategy.
As Director of Marketing Communication, you will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Overseeing the production of all brand identity materials, collateral and the development of new promotional materials according to the MOHG CID guidelines
2. Overseeing budget reconciliation of MOHG International Advertising Campaign (IAC)
3. Planning all phases to brief and implement the hotel’s annual advertising plan
4. Strong working relationship with MOHG’s international PR network and MOHG Corporate Communications Team for maximum reach of initiatives
5. To manage the Hotel’s Press Office by maintaining strong relationships with local and international media, developing newsworthy and creative press releases to pitch to appropriate media and creating bespoke itineraries and host all local and international media visits
6. Developing, managing and monitoring the Hotel’s social media channel strategy
7. Working with the global digital marketing team to identify and execute paid social media campaigns to engage both global staying guests and local audiences for F&B and Spa
8. Planning, organising and overseeing all photography and videography sessions for the hotel to ensure the right assets are in place for media, digital and collateral use. These include major collateral photography, food and beverage shots and press release photos
9. Ensuring up-to-date, brand-appropriate web site copy for the hotel
10. Overseeing web traffic analysis to create and execute a successful digital marketing strategy
11. Providing local expertise about hotel seasonality, forthcoming events, local attractions and competitor activity in order to optimise return on paid search marketing
12. Acting as the primary digital and ecommerce contact for the hotel when new website, mobile or social media capabilities are implemented
As Director of Marketing & Communication, we expect from you:
1. Previous experience in a similar role within luxury hospitality, luxury retail, agency or marketing environment
2. Effective time management, communication and presentation skills
3. Excellent verbal and written communication in German and English
4. Highly competent in using Word, Excel and Powerpoint
