Senior .Net Developer required by our award-winning client in Central London. This hybrid role provides flexibility, requiring 1-2 days per week in the office.
The organisation is looking for a highly skilled .NET Developer with strong expertise in .NET/C# to enhance its software development team. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining a diverse range of products, including sophisticated WPF-based desktop applications and robust backend services. This position presents an opportunity to take a leadership role, mentor junior developers, and uphold high technical standards across the product range.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development
1. Design and develop rich desktop applications using WPF.
2. Apply modern UI design principles and frameworks like MVVM to ensure code is structured, maintainable, and scalable.
3. Create and manage backend services, APIs, and libraries using .NET/C#.
Leadership & Teamwork
1. Conduct design and code reviews to maintain high development standards.
2. Work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to understand requirements and implement new features.
3. Offer technical mentorship and support to junior team members.
Quality Assurance & Best Practices
1. Write high-quality, well-documented code supported by unit and integration tests.
2. Continuously enhance performance, scalability, and security of applications.
3. Champion best practices and modern software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum.
Problem Solving & Innovation
1. Identify and resolve technical challenges as they arise.
2. Participate in architectural discussions to contribute to the advancement of the technology stack.
Ideal Background
1. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in .NET/C# development.
2. Strong background in developing WPF desktop applications with an emphasis on design and usability.
3. Experience in designing and implementing backend services.
4. Knowledge of both .NET Framework and .NET Core.
5. A solid grasp of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
6. Advanced expertise in WPF, including XAML, data binding, custom controls, and UI animations.
7. Understanding of UI/UX principles to ensure functionality and aesthetics in applications.
8. Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
9. Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation.
10. Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
11. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
12. Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
The Desirables / Nice To Haves:
1. Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
2. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
3. Exposure to additional front-end technologies or modern UI frameworks.
4. Background in a product-focused or startup setting.
