Job Description
The Role:
Are you ready to work within the Downstream Process Development team as an Expert, Science & Technology professional? You will design, plan, perform, interpret, and report results of scientific experiments to ensure the timely delivery of drug substance manufacturing processes or innovation projects. This means you will collaborate with multi-functional project teams, conduct purification experiments, and contribute to scientific and technical activities with minimum guidance from experienced team members. This is a fantastic opportunity where the successful incumbent will maintain lab instruments, document experiments, optimize methods, and manage chemicals and solvents. Applicants should be comfortable addressing problems, performing safety and literature searches and work in an innovative patient treatment and GMP manufacturing environment. Major accountabilities but not limited to:
1. Design, plan, perform, interpret, and report results of scientific experiments for the preparation and timely delivery of drug substances (DS), processes, procedures and innovation.
2. Lead and manage all project/local network activities, support team members, participate in project teams, and contribute to overall TRD strategies and goals.
3. Conduct experiments related to purification processes (e.g., chromatography, filtration, reactions).
4. Maintain lab instruments and infrastructure, ensuring quality, quantity, and timelines in all assigned projects.
5. Document scientific experiments and plant activities and optimize existing methods to develop more efficient ones.
6. Communicate and address problems, perform safety and literature searches, and manage chemicals and solvents within your area of responsibility.
7. Transfer processes to non-GMP and GMP manufacturing facilities.
8. Review and approve batch documentation, support deviations.
9. Provide technical support to answer health authority questions.
Your Experience:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or master’s Degree.
2. Proven experience in safe handling of chemicals, potentially dangerous materials, and equipment.
3. Strong scientific or technical knowledge in a specific area (e.g. biotechnology).
4. Proficiency with laboratory and technical tools, as well as software and computer tools.
5. Experience with downstream development technologies like chromatography or filtration is a plus.
6. Experience with lab automation, modelling or programming (Python) is a plus.
7. Good presentation skills and scientific/technical writing skills.
8. Good communication skills.
9. Fluent in English (oral and written).
