As Bid & Tendering Specialist you are a key player in translating client requirements and site assessments into detailed, accurate project costings. You are essential in ensuring that tenders for Steam Turbine & Compressor equipment services are competitive, technically precise, and commercially sound. You will be responsible for developing proposals for complex projects, ensuring alignment between technical feasibility, cost efficiency, and commercial success.
Role Location: This UK-based role offers flexibility, allowing you to work from home. Travel to other service centres and customer locations will be required.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
Ensuring thorough technical scope definition and risk management for complex Steam Turbine & Compressor service projects (e.g. inspections, repairs, parts supply, multi-train solutions, rerates, upgrades and modifications)
Prepare end-to-end cost estimation and commercial quotations for Steam Turbine & Compressor projects based on technical specifications
Engage and collaborate successfully with clients and external partners (e.g. vendors / subcontractors) as well internal stakeholders
Support post-tender activities, ensuring smooth transition from bid to execution, including scope validation and project briefing
Contribute to procurement and cost efficiency by working closely with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, lead times and quality for related parts and services
Continuously improve cost estimation methods to improve accuracy and efficiency in pricing strategies
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Ideally, you will hold a recognised qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline. We are also open to considering Sales Engineers or Project Engineers with proposals/ bid / tendering experience who are seeking a new career path.
Strong experience in rotating equipment services, workshop reclamation, and repair processes. Any experience with Steam Turbine / Multistage Compression equipment is a distinct advantage.
Familiarity with service and repair supply chains.
Thorough analytical skills and commercial mindset
Proactive, solution-oriented personality with strong interpersonal skills
Fluency in German and/or French (advantageous)
