Background:
The Planning Engineer will manage and coordinate the planning and scheduling for the Project as part of the company's project controls team, and will be based on site in Visp at minimum 4 days per week.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Management and update of the master Primavera P6 schedule at various levels.
* Progress tracking and measurement of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning delivery using various tools.
* Maintenance of schedule basis documents such as deliverable and interdependency matrices.
* Lead or assist cross-functional teams in interactive planning sessions and drive inputs to the schedule in accordance with site and project planning procedures.
* Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in the developing of alternative methods for corrective action.
* Communicate progress and key milestones to all relevant stakeholders.
* Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, critical path analysis, trending charts and schedule analysis on a periodic basis.
* Responsible for schedule quality and governance and to ensure credibility of the information contained in the schedule.
* Active involvement in analysis of the integrated project schedules from each discipline.
* Review schedules with project team members on a regular basis to ensure that accurate and timely data is incorporated in the schedule.
* Prepare reports in accordance with Lonza procedures and as required by Project Management, to provide status on the project schedule and critical project issues.
Your Profile:
* Education: Degree or advanced degree from an accredited college or university. Engineering, Science, Quantity Surveying, or Business Management degree preferred, or equivalent experience
* Language: Excellent command of English required. Business fluent in German an advantage.
* Experience: 10+ years of experience as a project planner for large (> 250 Mio CHF) pharmaceutical projects.
* Relevant experience of managing, administrating and working within a multi user Primavera P6 project environment.
* Ability to interpret schedule data in a consistent and efficient manner and articulate relevant information to senior management.
* Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Microsoft office proficient.
* Experience working in a global environment.
* Experience in pharmaceutical projects using Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning type contracts.
* Strong analytical skills. Ability to conduct analysis of complex/large data sets, draw conclusions accordingly, and prepare and support decisions.
* Able to deal with ambiguity - can conform to shifting priorities, and demands.
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced environment.
