Full-Stack Software / DevOps Engineer in a Start-Up
Aitexa is a young, dynamic start-up that has successfully secured an Innosuisse research project grant exceeding 500,000 CHF ("GenAI P&ID-Design: Efficiency in Process Engineering"). Our aim is to enhance process-plant engineering through AI-driven automation and advanced solution approaches. By addressing complex engineering challenges, we strive to improve quality, simplify interdisciplinary collaboration, and reduce the time from the initial concept to a fully operational facility. Through our “GenAI-to-Engineering” solutions, we enable engineers to plan faster, smarter, and more sustainably. As an addition to our team, we are looking for you to take on primary responsibility for our software solutions.
Your Responsibilities:
* Take responsibility for the software solution we are developing, guide the future Aitexa software team, and oversee collaboration with software partners in research projects.
* Support our process engineers, data scientists, and future software developers in creating AI-based software for the automated generation of industrial plans, working closely with research partners in interdisciplinary project teams.
* Establish standards for Aitexa’s software, such as architectural guidelines, coding conventions, code review processes, and the CI/CD pipeline.
* You oversee and ensure the proper implementation of prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning, GenAI, AI, and more, both for prototypes and for the production system.
* As a DevOps engineer, you are responsible for the development, maintenance, and operation of Aitexa’s software.
* You enjoy significant freedom in decision-making and assume full responsibility for software-related decisions.
Your Profile:
* Experience in software development and software architecture.
* A degree in Computer Science, Computational Sciences, Data Science, or a related field.
* Fluent in spoken and written English; additional languages are welcome.
* Strong social skills, team-oriented mindset, and a pronounced focus on quality.
* Able to take on significant personal responsibility within a team setting, showing resilience and excellent communication skills.
What We Offer:
* The opportunity to actively shape the future of highly innovative, GenAI-based industrial planning.
* Opportunity to own shares of Aitexa.
* Collaboration with industry partners and research institutes such as the Swiss Smart Factory.
* A diverse, challenging range of tasks in a dedicated start-up team.
* Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
* Flexible working hours & the option for home-office complemented by an in-person office located in Bern's old town.
