Your role
Are you an expert in assessing value and market trends? Do you have a knack for transforming large data sets into comprehensive reports? Are you good at storytelling based on market insights?
We’re looking for a desk research analyst to:
1. perform buy side analysis of structured credit portfolios such as credit risk transfer / regulatory capital relief transactions or RMBS for investment fund solutions
2. monitor such structured credit portfolio transactions, analyze portfolio performance, update stress analysis and report findings
3. assess risks of collateral pools and transaction structures with a focus on analyzing the underlying portfolio, cash flow modelling, stress testing and scenario analysis
4. support due diligence of banks/financial institutions with regard to their processes and market position in the relevant product categories, in particular with respect to underwriting, servicing and risk models
5. contribute to credit summaries for structured credit portfolio transactions including a recommendation for approval committees
6. collaborate with the dedicated semi-liquid fixed income portfolio managers in developing and maintaining internal modelling/pricing tools and deal monitoring infrastructure for structured portfolio and cash flow-based products

Your team
You’ll be working in the Active Fixed Income investment team in Zurich. You will join a dynamic and diverse environment within UBS Asset Management. As the leading asset manager of traditional fixed income solutions in Switzerland, we support our institutional client base such as insurers, banks, pension funds, quasi-institutional clients and governments in finding the best investment strategies. Besides traditional Fixed Income Portfolios, we have grown considerably in managing more complex and semi-liquid asset classes such as Swiss Franc mortgages and strive to enhance our offering in this segment.
Your expertise
1. structured credit research analyst with 3-5 years of experience
2. bachelor’s/master’s degree in finance, math, engineering or a related field, ideally with a post-graduate qualification IMC/CFA/CIIA
3. both a theoretical structured credit background as well as market experience
4. proficient MS Office skills including GenAI tools. Programming languages like Python are a plus.
5. critical thinker, self-starter, with a keen focus on the details
6. collaborative personality, with the ability to complete tasks independently
7. adept at articulating analytical views on and off paper, in a concise and confident manner
8. fluent in English. German would be an advantage.
