Let’s care for tomorrow.
Your ambitions. Your dreams. Your tomorrow
Whether it’s aircraft, international business or offshore wind parks, Allianz Commercial has an extensive range of risks covered when it comes to protecting businesses.
We are looking for a Claims Specialist, based in Wallisellen, Zurich.
Your Team
The Aviation Claims Team Ger/Sui consists of 22 Claims Specialists, who are committed to delivering effective and efficient claims handling for local and international aviation businesses. The Team manages a diverse portfolio of clients, from international Airlines, Aircraft Manufacturers to local General Aviation and covers several Lines of Business such as Liability, Hull or Accident Insurance.
The Impact You Will Have
You will proactively investigate, negotiate, and resolve various aviation claims, including those involving more complex issues and/or litigation. You will ensure that all claims are managed within authority limits and in compliance with our Claims Standards, procedures, and guidelines.
You will drive third-party service providers to deliver cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality service for both internal and external customers. You will also work to develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with brokers and clients, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the claims process. You will look after a portfolio of clients and be the main entry point for all their claims.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
Input and maintain accurate claims records in Claims systems; support the credit control process in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Investigate domestic and international claims, including complex or litigious cases, and evaluate coverage issues and reserving levels.
Select and manage external service providers (e.g., Loss Adjusters, legal services) while maintaining professional relationships under supervision.
Negotiate and settle claims, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adhering to settlement guidelines; drive subrogation processes.
Ensure compliance with authority limits, claims procedures, and best practices; prepare referrals for cases outside authority levels.
Support claims management procedures for existing and new business, including coordination with clients, brokers, and loss adjusters; conduct audits of external providers.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, underwriters, key account managers, and other internal and external stakeholders, reporting claims information effectively internally and externally.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
Products and Coverages: Understanding of relevant products, terms, conditions, and coverages; experience in aviation coverages and portfolios is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
Claims Handling: Good understanding of the full claims process from notification to settlement and recovery.
Reserving, Reinsurance, and Coinsurance: Strong grasp of reserving principles and practices, along with expertise in reinsurance and coinsurance or other relevant background.
Technical Expertise: Specialized understanding of LoB products, portfolio, and relevant systems (e.g., Genius, Microsoft Office applications).
Regional and Market Expertise: Knowledge of local/regional LoB insurance markets and competitive landscape.
Communication and Analytical Skills: Strong communication with proficiency in both written and spoken German and English, presentation, and analytical skills, including the ability to absorb and analyze complex data effectively.
