For the Chair of General Philosophy at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences at the University of Neuchâtel
Starting Date: 01.02.2025
Duration of the contract: 4 years, renewable every year.
Salary: from 60'112 CHF during the first year to 71’041 CHF during the fourth year (83%)
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct research for a doctoral thesis under the supervision of Professor Olivier Massin;
2. Teach 2 hours per week;
3. Participate in the evaluation and proctoring of exams;
4. Advise and mentor students;
5. Actively engage in the development of the Institute of Philosophy (organization of conferences, promoting philosophy, etc.);
6. Participate in the weekly research colloquium and other colloquia and conferences organized by the Institute;
7. Present work related to their doctoral research at international conferences;
8. Participate in doctoral schools and other doctoral-level training courses;
9. Publish articles related to the doctoral dissertation;
10. Plan a one-year stay abroad while conducting doctoral research;
11. Be present at the Institute on a daily basis (an office and computer equipment are available).
Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in Philosophy
2. Extensive background in Logics and Metaphysics
3. Curiosity and the ability to conduct original research
4. Autonomy and sense of initiative
5. Excellent teaching skills
6. Knowledge of French (fluent) and English (very good)
