JOB PURPOSE
MSC Cruises is expanding its F&B team onboard its US fleet. This is a travelling role. Working closely with the ashore-side Beverage Team, the Travelling Fleet Supervisor - Beverage leads the implementation of corporate beverage projects on board of our fleet ensuring compliance with service standards and costs planned, achievement of sales targets and optimum customer satisfaction. #L1-LC1
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
•Assists with establishing and maintaining standards for the consistent quality of all beverage products and services;
•Monitors the correct execution of key operational processes, such as training, quality/recipe control, steps of service, inventory and ordering processes;
•Ensures that all beverage service related food items are being properly handled according to U.S.P.H and V.S.P standards;
•Assists with establishing procedures for minimum and maximum par-stocks in all beverage outlets, as well as storeroom operations including ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and inventory control;
•Assists with monitoring and analysing beverage cost, consumption data and results;
•Supports the ashore-side Beverage product team in the creation and editing of wine lists, craft cocktail menus, and beer lists;
•Designs and/or adjusts product for new buildings and new itineraries in collaboration with Supply Chain;
•Supports the performance of all bar and wine staff, and all other beverage related services, to ensure that their duties and services are carried out in accordance with company policies and standards;
•Conducts formal and informal training sessions with all beverage service related staff in beverage awareness, basic serving skills, up selling of products and appropriate sales techniques;
•Builds positive and effective relationships with the entire shoreside/on board Beverage teams to create a positive environment, enabling employees to maximize their potential;
•Assists the ashore-side Beverage product team and the Crew Office in scheduling the on-board Beverage Managers.
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)
•Fluent English is compulsory, any other European languages is an advantage;
•Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management or equivalent work experience;
•At least five years’ experience in cruise ship management positions such as Traveling Beverage/Bar Manager, Fleet Beverage Supervisor, Fleet Beverage Ops Manager is a must. For this role, applications with only a land based experience such as hotel, bars, resort, etc. will not be processed;
•Sommelier certification is an advantage;
•Proficient level of experience in MS Office, Excel and PPT presentations;
•Customer service driven;
•Ability to plan, organize and complete work in accordance with time deadlines;
•Excellent communicator, leader and team player;
•Strong business acumen with ability to create and enhance revenue opportunities;
•Ability to travel extensively.
