We are looking for an Expeditor / Buyer to join our Procurement team in Allschwil.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Post-Order Management to facilitate "on-time" delivery of goods and services, drive cost-effective solutions and ensure the smooth operation of our procurement processes. Building and maintaining strong strategic partnerships with key suppliers of components, key equipment as well as engineering and manufacturing services (regionally and globally) will also be a key element in this role.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
Lead procurement activities, ensuring compliance with technical and commercial project requirements
Develop and execute procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance
Identify and manage preferred suppliers based on project needs and market conditions
Oversee the RFx process, supplier selection, and contract negotiations to secure favorable terms
Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement with business objectives
Maintain and update purchase orders in SAP while ensuring procurement efficiency
Track market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for strategic partnerships
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Business and/or technical qualification
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, ideally in an international/global environment
Proven track record of successful execution of procurement strategies and cost savings in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Fluency in English and German
Great relationship management and negotiation skills
Impeccable time-management, with the ability to adapt to changing schedules
Strategic thinking and understanding of risk management
Very good team player
