Your Responsibilities
You will join the team responsible for developing and operating cutting-edge technology in accelerator systems at CERN.
The Systems Department (SY) has a broad expertise on beam-related technical systems and is engaged in ambitious forward-looking R&D programmes.
You will work in the Lasers and Photocathodes Section, responsible for the operation and development of the ISOLDE RILIS laser ion source, ion beam manipulation, and photoinjectors delivering electron beams to CLEAR and AWAKE.
In this position, you will contribute to:
* Investigating symmetry-violating probe systems
* Developing and optimizing cooling schemes and laser schemes for state preparation in ion sources and ion traps
* Characterizing probe systems using laser spectroscopy
* Investigating design improvements for performance enhancement
Your Profile
We are looking for a motivated individual with expertise in precision experiments investigating symmetry-violating observables.
Required skills include:
* Engagement, motivation, and enthusiasm to work in a collaborative team
* Expertise in precision experiments and experimental techniques
* Experience with lasers and spectroscopy experiments
* Fluent in English
