Job Title: Bioprocess Production Engineer

Role Overview:
Planetary is seeking an experienced Bioprocess Production Engineer to support the development and scaling of our mycoprotein production facility in Aarberg. The role involves upscaling and operating fermentation processes at our 50k L production site, working on both batch and continuous production for internal products and external clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Optimize and operate mycelium biomass (mycoprotein) fermentation processes at scales from 300L to 50m³.
* Participate in routine production of mycoprotein at an industrial scale.
* Support the implementation of a continuous production process for mycoprotein at a 50m³ scale.
* Work flexible hours as part of a shift-based production team.
* Follow operational procedures, safety protocols, and directives from line managers.
* Operate various food-grade manufacturing equipment under strict quality control standards.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to fermentation processes.
* Take a hands-on approach to food ingredient production through industrial fermentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Passion for impact-driven industrial work, scaling alternative protein production.
* BSc, MSc, or CFC in food technology, microbiology, fermentation technology, process engineering, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in industrial fermentation, chemical processes, or food manufacturing.
* Hands-on knowledge of industrial food-grade manufacturing conditions.
* Strong motivation to work in a start-up environment and eagerness to learn new concepts.
* Fluency in German is required; English is an advantage.
