The Project Student Role
The Project Student is responsible for the transfer of telemetric data into our cloud. This includes a sustainable concept of the datastructure, which is adjustable and flexible for future devices. It also includes the implementation (proof of concept) reading out from some of our devices like a z-drive, and transferring the data to the cloud. This software shall run on a Windows PC.
This student position reports to the Senior Manager Systems Engineering and is part of the Applied R&D Team located in Heerbrugg and will be an on-site role. This is a temporary project role until end of August 2025 as part of a Master study program.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
* Creating a data concept based on state of the art data science knowledge
* Combine scientific data knowledge from university background with real industrial devices and applications
* Create a functional proof of concept transferring telemetric data from devices to the cloud.
The essential requirements of the job include:
* Conceptional work for sustainable and extendable data structure for telemetric data, by understanding Leica microsystems devices and firmwares.
* Creating a proof of concept demo software for Windows.
