We are recruiting a Senior Operational Risk Manager on behalf of a prestigious private bank in Geneva. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the effectiveness of the bank’s operational risk framework, supporting resilience, and mitigating key risks across its activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Risk Monitoring & Incident Management
2. Oversee and track internal and external operational risk incidents, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
3. Conduct risk assessments to proactively identify and mitigate potential operational vulnerabilities.
4. Test of Controls (ToC) & Risk Control Framework
5. Design and implement a structured Test of Controls (ToC) framework to evaluate the effectiveness of the bank’s controls.
6. Execute control testing procedures and ensure continuous improvement of the risk management framework.
7. Maintain and enhance the operational risk framework, ensuring it evolves with regulatory and business changes.
8. Key Risk Indicators (KRI) & Performance Analysis
9. Consolidate and analyze Key Risk Indicators (KRI) on a monthly basis, identifying trends and recommending adjustments where necessary.
10. Support the continuous development of risk metrics to improve risk awareness and oversight.
11. Stakeholder Collaboration & Senior Management Reporting
12. Engage with internal stakeholders (Audit, Compliance, IT, and Operations) to foster a risk-aware culture.
13. Prepare and present comprehensive risk reports with key insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and risk committees.
Your Profile
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in Operational Risk, Audit, or Permanent Control within the financial sector.
3. Strong expertise in Test of Controls (ToC) frameworks and risk monitoring methodologies.
4. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to assess and prioritize risk-related issues effectively.
5. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, engaging across departments and senior leadership.
6. Highly autonomous, structured, and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
7. Fluent in English; proficiency in French is required, and German is a plus.
8. Location: Geneva
9. Team Structure: 4 people (2 in Risk Ops, 2 in BCM)
